It's finally June, which means that you might have a couple of weddings lined up to attend.  Most people want to get married in summer, when the weather is beautiful and warm, so in the spirit of weddings I found a couple of interesting stats from The Knot:

In 2008
The average amount spent on a bridal gown was $1,032.

The average wedding cake cost around $555.

The average cost of a reception venue was $13,667.

The overall cost of a wedding was $29,334.

When getting married, some might say, "all you need is love". Love is good and everything, but it won't make $30,000 pop out of thin air. Budgeting for a wedding doesn't sound very fun, but it's essential if you don't want to start off your new marriage with a mound of debt. If you don't have the dough, be creative, stick with something simple, or consider a romantic elopement.
