Besides knowing what Kim will be replacing Jong Il in Korea or how Rod Blagojevich's hair looks today, keeping up on the news lets us have an educated voice. As we saw in the last presidential election, more of us voted than ever before and our influence was felt. I think that the same concept can be applied to the news. The more we know about what's going on around us, the more we can speak up for what's important to us. And as much as we'd like to believe, not everything gets covered by The Daily Show and The Colbert Report.

According to data garnered from this quiz (take it before you read on), the average 18- to 34-year-old only got half the questions right. While not much different from the national average, I think we can do better. Here are some great online news sources to stimulate the mind.
